What is R-Cinex?
R-Cinex containing the 2 active ingredients isoniazid and rifampicin both belong to the class of medications called anti-tuberculosis drugs. The medication works by disrupting the bacterial cell walls and preventing them from reproducing to treat and kill the bacteria causing the infection. It is mainly prescribed to treat tuberculosis or other unlisted conditions.
How is R-Cinex used?
R-Cinex is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The capsules should be taken on an empty stomach, 30 minutes prior to a meal or 2 hours after a meal along with a drink of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The capsules should be swallowed whole and not broken, chewed or crushed to prevent too much of the medication from being released at one time. Do not discontinue the medication until the prescribed amount is complete, even if symptoms have disappeared, as abruptly stopping the medication may cause the infection to return and the bacteria to become harder to treat.
