What is Redoxon?
Redoxon is a tablet form of the food supplement vitamin C (ascorbic acid). The active ingredient vitamin C is considered an antioxidant that is essential to strengthen and maintain the structure of bones, teeth and connective tissue. The medication is commonly used with people to enhance wound healing, prevent and treat scurvy and other symptoms of mild deficiency. Some people may require enhanced vitamin C requirements if they are recovering from surgery, heavy smokers, breastfeeding or are pregnant.
How is Redoxon used?
Redoxon should be taken orally as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s reaction to the medication. The recommended maximum dosage is 2000mg in one day.
Adverse effects
Redoxon is usually well tolerated but may cause unwanted side effects such as:
- Bloody urine
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Flushing
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Upset stomach

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
