What is RIZACT-5?
Rizact works by narrowing blood vessels to stop pain signals from being sent to the brain and decreases the release of certain natural substances in the brain that cause migraine symptoms. The active ingredient rizatriptan is considered a selective serotonin agonist type of medication. It can be used to treat nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sounds as well as headaches caused by migraines. The tablets can be used to treat migraines but cannot be used to prevent or lessen the amount of future migraine attacks.
How is RIZACT-5 used?
Rizact should be taken as soon as migraine symptoms arise or after the attack has begun. The tablets should be taken with a full glass of water but can be taken with or without food. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s age, condition and their response to the treatment. A second dose may be taken at least 2 hours after the first dose should the migraine symptoms persist. The recommended maximum dosage is 20mg every 24 hours.
