What is Rosuvas-20?
Rosuvas containing the active ingredient rosuvastatin calcium is considered a HMG CoA reductase inhibitor or statins type of medication. The medication works by reducing the amount of bad cholesterol (low density lipoprotein) while increasing the amount of good cholesterol (high density lipoprotein) in the body to prevent the clogging and narrowing of the arteries. The tablets when used along with a proper diet, exercise program and other lifestyle changes can help reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes or needing heart bypass surgery in people with a high risk of heart disease.
How is Rosuvas-20 used?
Rosuvas is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. Do not take any antacids within 2 hours of taking this medication as it may reduce the absorption of the drug.
