The medication works by slowing down the rate of skin cell reproduction to prevent thickened or scaly skin patches as well as reducing swelling, itching and redness of the skin. It is mainly prescribed in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris and aims to clear patches of red, scaly skin called plaques as much as possible.
