What is Staphban?
Staphban Ointment is a treatment for bacterial infections in dogs. Stpahban contains the active ingredient Mupirocin, which is an antimicrobial. Staphban can be used to treat infections of the skin, including superficial pyoderma, caused by susceptible strains of staphylococcus aureus and staphylococcus intermedius.
How is Staphban used?
Staphban comes in a 15gm tube of ointment, containing 2% mupirocin.
After cleaning the area, apply a film of Staphban to the area. This is usually applied twice a day.
Do not use Mupirocin for longer than 30 days. If the condition still persists after 30 days, contact your vet.
If the condition worsens while applying Staphban, contact your vet.
Warnings
Staphban is a pet medicine. It is for applicaiton on dogs only. Do not use on humans or other pets.
Mupirocin may not be safe for use in pregnant dogs.
