What is Stugeron Forte?
Stugeron Forte works by blocking histamine and other receptors in the brain to prevent disturbances in the middle ear from activating the vomit centre and causing nausea, vertigo or vomiting. The active ingredient cinnarizine is considered an antihistamine used to prevent and treat motion sickness. Some patients may also use the medication to treat tinnitus associated with Meniere’s disease and other middle ear disorders.
How is Stugeron Forte used?
Stugeron Forte is usually taken orally 2 hours prior to travelling or as directed by a doctor. For extended traveling, additional doses may be taken every 8 hours. The tablets may also be cut apart to be taken in smaller portions periodically. The medication should be taken with or just after a meal along with some water to prevent an upset stomach. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the medication.
Adverse effects
Stugeron Forte may cause unwanted side effects such as:
- Loss of coordination
- Depression
- Jaundice
- Weight gain
- Increased sweating
- Headaches
- Upset stomach
- Drowsiness

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Stugeron Forte is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
