What is Susten Gel?
Susten Gel containing the active ingredient progesterone is a synthetic form of a female sex hormone which is essential for the function of the female reproductive system. It can be used to treat infertility by preparing the lining of the womb to receive a fertilized egg. The gel may also be used during in vitro fertilization (IVF) when infertility, in women who have normal ovulatory menstrual cycles, may be due to problems with the fallopian tubes or the womb.
How is Susten Gel used?
Susten Gel should be applied once per day or as directed by a doctor. Before applying the gel, grip the applicator by the thick end and shake gently to ensure the contents are at the thin end. To apply the medication, twist off the tab and insert the thin end of the applicator into the vagina while you are in a sitting position or lying on your back with the knees bent. Press the thick end of the applicator firmly to deposit the gel. Remove the applicator and discard it into a waste container. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage, start date and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy.
