What is Synclar-250?
Synclar containing the active ingredient clarithromycin is considered a macrolide antibiotics type of medication. The medication works by blocking essential proteins that bacteria require to reproduce which will kill the bacteria or allow the immune system to destroy them. The medication can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions caused by bacteria such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis media as well as infections to the skin. Some patients may also use the antibiotics along with other types of medication to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori.
How is Synclar-250 used?
Synclar is usually taken orally twice per day spread out 12 hours apart unless otherwise directed by a doctor. To prevent an upset stomach, the tablets should be taken with some food along with a glass of water or milk. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. Do not discontinue the treatment prematurely as it may allow the bacteria to return and become immune to the antibiotics.
