What is Tazret Gel?
Tazret Gel can be used to treat plaque psoriasis, acne and sun damaged skin (photodamage). The active ingredient tazarotene belongs to a type of medication called topical retinoids, a medication similar to vitamin A. The medication works by slowing the production of skin cells causing scaly and inflamed areas as well as exfoliating the skin to improve the appearance and texture of the skin.
How is Tazret Gel used?
Tazret Gel should only be used as directed by a doctor, usually once per day at bedtime. Contact a doctor for the correct length of treatment and dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. Before applying the medication, always wash and dry your hands and the affected area. Rub a thin layer of the gel to the affected area and gently massage it in until it disappears. Wash your hands immediately after using the medication. Do not bandage, cover or wrap the treated area unless advised to do so by a doctor.
Adverse effects
Tazret Gel may cause unwanted side effects such as:
- Worsening of psoriasis
- Signs of skin infection
- Dry or peeling skin
- Itching, redness, burning or pain at application site
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persists or worsen.
Warnings
Do not use the gel on more than 10% of your body area s well as on the face, scalp, armpits, hairline or behind the knees and elbows.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Tazret Gel is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed. |
