What is Thrombophob Gel?
Thrombophob Gel containing the active ingredient heparin sodium is considered an anticoagulant type of medication. The medication works by dissolving hematomas (small blood clots) and improving the blood supply to the skin. The gel can be used in the treatment of circulatory disorders, varicose veins, haematomas, contusions and sports injuries such as strains and sprains.
How is Thrombophob Gel used?
Thrombophob Gel is usually applied topically 2 to 3 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. Always wash your hands and the affected area thoroughly prior to spreading a thin layer of the gel to cover the affected area completely. Wash your hands immediately after treatment.
Adverse effects
Thrombophob Gel is generally very well tolerated with no known side effects. Contact a doctor immediately should you experience any adverse effects.
Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Thrombophob Gel is not always suitable for all patients.
