What is Tiova Inhaler?
The Tiova Inhaler allows for easier breathing by relaxing the muscles around the airways. The active ingredient tiotropium bromide is considered an anticholinergic bronchodilator type of medication. It can prevent and control symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing and chest tightness caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), bronchitis or emphysema. The medication is a long term treatment and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems.
How is Tiova Inhaler used?
Tiova should be inhaled orally once daily or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the medication. The recommended dose is 2 puffs of the inhaler once per day. Follow a doctor's instructions carefully to correctly use the inhaler. Gargle and rinse with water after using the inhaler to prevent throat irritation or dry mouth but do not swallow the rinse water.
