What is Trivastal L.A.?
Trivastal L.A. containing the active ingredient piribedil is considered an antiparkinson agent or dopamine agonist type of medication. It works by stimulating cerebral and peripheral dopamine receptors to correct dopamine deficiency and restore mental balance. The medication can be used alone or along with other medications to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and age related mild cognitive impairment such as loss of memory, vigilance, concentration, intellectual function and vertigo.
How is Trivastal L.A. used?
Trivastal L.A. is usually taken 1 to 4 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication should be taken with or just after a meal along with a glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The dosage should not be adjusted without the consent of your health care provider.
Adverse effects
Patients using Trivastal L.A. may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

- Flatulence
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Movement disorder
- Confusion
- Leg cramps

Warnings
Patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent heart attack and hypersensitivity should not use this medication.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Trivastal L.A. is not always suitable for all patients.
