What is Veltride?
Veltride containing the active ingredient dutasteride belongs to a class of medications called 5 alpha reductase inhibitors. The medication works by preventing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to prevent benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The tablets can help treat conditions such as difficulty in beginning the flow of urine, weak stream and the need to urinate frequently or urgently.
How is Veltride used?
Veltride is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water.
