What is Vetmedin?
Vetmedin contains the active ingredient pimobendan and is considered an inodilators type of medication. It is used as a first line therapy in the management of certain types of congestive heart failure in dogs. The medication works by opening up the blood vessels that take blood away from the heart to effectively reduce the work rate the heart needs to pump blood. Decreasing the workload needed by the heart to pump blood will help increase the quality of life and lifespan of pets.
