What is Vetoryl?
Vetoryl containing the active ingredient trilostane is used in the treatment of hyperadrenocorticism in dogs. The medication works by controlling the adrenal gland’s excess production of the hormone cortisol from being released into the bloodstream during times of stress. The capsules are used to treat Cushing’s syndrome but cannot be used to cure the condition in the dog.
How is Vetoryl used?
Vetoryl should always be given as directed by a veterinarian. The capsules should be given to the pet along with a meal in the morning. Contact a veterinarian for the correct dosage as it will depend on the pet’s condition, their weight and their response to the medication. The capsules should be given whole and not cut, split or crushed to ensure the correct dose is administered.
