What is Zymox Ear Cleanser?
Zymox Ear Cleanser containing a cocktail of ingredients is an effective and non toxic solution to clean and protect dirty ears. The medication can be used to wash everything that has accumulated under the ears and around the ear canal. Cleaning the ears regularly can help prevent bacteria from building up and causing an infection. The solution does not contain any harsh chemicals and can help clean without irritating the ears as well as leaving the ears smelling fresh.
How is Zymox Ear Cleanser used?
Zymox Ear Cleanser should be applied topically once per day to the ear canal. Massage the solution in at the base of the ear and clean any excess with a cotton ball. It should be used 1 to 2 times per week for a maintenance dose. Contact a veterinarian for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the pet’s condition and their response to the therapy.
Adverse effects
Zymox Ear Cleaner is generally very well tolerated with no reported side effects. Contact a veterinarian immediately should you notice any irregularities in your pet.
Warnings
Do not apply the medication on irritated or ruptured ear drums. Do not clean the ear before or during use as doing so will disrupt the enzyme system.
Immediately proceed to the veterinarian if your pet suffers an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Zymox Ear Cleanser is not always suitable for all animals. Always consult your veterinarian prior to using this medication if your pet is pregnant, breastfeeding, breeding, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if it has any allergies or other health problems.
