Many people think that living a healthy lifestyle is very difficult, but often it is just an excuse. Of course, complaining about life or lack of free time sitting on the couch is much easier. But if you overcome your laziness, then your life and the lives of your family can change significantly for the better. So what does a modern city dweller need to be healthy?
In order to determine how to lead a healthy lifestyle, it is necessary to determine what health is. Let’s consider the definition of the World Health Organization: human health is an objective state and a subjective feeling of complete physical, mental and social comfort. According to the same organization, human health depends on the following factors:
10% – the state of the health care system in the country;
20% – environmental situation;
20% – genetic heredity;
50% – a way of life.
Based on these data, we can conclude that man himself is more responsible for the state of his body. Of course, it is impossible to significantly influence such a factor as heredity, but by protecting the body from the effects of a bad environment, changing your lifestyle can significantly improve your health.
Here are 3 simple and effective ways to improve your health and quality of life:
- Healthy sleep. Most of us have a constant lack of sleep – in the evening after work there is always a lot of urgent matters, and in the morning we have to hurry to the office. As a result, you sleep very little and are tired all day. Train yourself to go to bed and wake up at the same time and try to constantly adhere to this schedule. Remember that only a well-rested body can function properly. It is desirable to go to bed before midnight – it is more physiological than sleeping from three to twelve o’clock. If you have insomnia, take medications (such as Meloset or Ramitax) to help deal with this problem.
- Physical activity. Every day an adult must walk at least ten thousand steps – so much is necessary for the normal functioning of the spine, which receives nourishment only during movement. For other organs and systems, your physical activity is also vital. In addition to being an ideal way to burn fat, moderately brisk walking is also a great exercise for heart health, blood vessels, intestines and general endurance. During the lunch break, try to walk down the street. If possible, try not to use transport – walk home or work, park your car a couple of blocks from your destination and walk the rest of the way. Use every opportunity to move.
- Job satisfaction and comfort. This means that your work should be in a convenient place, you should be satisfied with your environment, office, desktop. A happy person wakes up in the morning happy with the fact that he has to do his favorite thing all day. Stress at work, where we spend most of our time, is the strongest provoker of various diseases. Don’t like work? Look for another! Take career guidance tests, think about what occupation you like, look for good examples – many people have turned their hobby into a profession and get good money for it. If nothing can be done, then at least dedicate your free time to what you really like and allows you to reveal your talents and skills.
