How to normalize the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract?

Tip 1. Do not eat before and during mental or physical work.

Every athlete knows that a person can eat 2 hours before training. The reason is simple – if he eats an hour before or during it, the energy will be used by the gastrointestinal tract, not the muscles. This will affect your energy during training – it will be much lower. In addition, digestive processes will still be disrupted; indigestion, malaise – all this will occur after exercise. You should also not eat before starting mental work. Did you know that brain activity consumes more energy than muscle activity? And this proportion is about 70/30. That is, 70% of energy is consumed by the brain, 30% – the body and muscles. Therefore, the advice is even more relevant for mental work.

Tip 2: Have a snack with fruit or dried fruit.

If you have a hard day, or if you can’t eat at home, have a snack with fruit, prunes or walnuts. When you feel hungry, fruit will be a great alternative to chocolate. Banana or pear are best, because they quickly satisfy hunger and cause a feeling of satiety.

Tip 3: Do not overeat.

How much can you eat at one time? Yogis recommend eating as much as fits in two palms together. You can do a trick and replace the usual plates in the house with small ones – optically there is a lot of food, but in fact just enough not to overeat.

Tip 4. Do not talk while eating.

When eating, you should not talk and be distracted not only by conversation, but also by TV, books, magazines, social networks, etc. You can choke if you talk while chewing.

And now let’s consider the familiar tips of our mothers, grandmothers, neighbors:

  1. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.

20th century research has shown that breakfast should not be too high in calories. Lunch should be the most nutritious meal of the day. The optimal caloric ratio of food: breakfast – 30-35%, lunch – 40-45% and dinner – 25% of the daily diet.

  1. Soups should be eaten daily. Otherwise, you risk getting a stomach ulcer.

This is a very contradictory statement, which is not confirmed by research and statistics. That is, the usefulness of daily consumption of soup to prevent ulcers is very questionable. The real prevention of ulcers is a healthy diet and timely treatment of gastritis, such as drugs such as Lanzol Relief or Losec.

  1. Vegetables and fruits can be eaten as much as you want.

Indeed, vegetables and fruits are very useful, but not in any quantity. First, excessive consumption can cause such unpleasant things as bloating, heartburn, diarrhea. And, as a consequence, there will be a violation of the digestive process.

If you plan to eat raw vegetables and fruits, it is better to eat them before the main meal (on an empty stomach), and not after it. Otherwise, fermentation processes will begin in the stomach. And this disrupts the digestive process, causes bloating, etc.
