Young people with a good immune system are more likely to overcome coronavirus disease without complications. Some are not even aware of the general symptoms of the disease, but they are contagious to others. Therefore, it is important for each of us to responsibly observe measures that help to avoid the spread of this virus.
The situation in Italy showed us how vulnerable is a group of older people over 65 years old. Coronavirus poses a great danger, especially for people with constantly weakened immune systems, heart, lung, diabetes, elderly people, pregnant women and nursing mothers. However, this can also be a potential threat to each of us.
There is practically no drugs for treating coronavirus (except Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate or combination Lopinavir/Ritonavir), and the treatment is symptomatic – aimed at treating the manifestations of the disease. However, many people have a stress, depression and fear of coronavirus due to quarantine.
Therefore, responsible prevention and support of the immune system play a large role. Do you know how to support it?
It’s about balance in life. The immune system protects the internal balance in the human body. It is difficult to find the right balance between work, family and time for yourself. It is even more difficult to maintain this standard for a long time. The biggest problem of a person is discipline and regularity in all the recreational activities that we do in life.
Sleep is a powerful helper. Some people say that they do not need to sleep, and sleep is considered a waste of time. Do not listen to them and do not put off sleep for later. A number of studies have confirmed that lack of sleep weakens the immune system, and people who sleep less 7 hours have a higher risk of heart attack, cancer, dementia, stroke, or diabetes.
Sleep keeps our immune system in balance. If you sleep less recommended time, you are more vulnerable, and your body does not have complete ability to resist infections. You may have noticed that after a sleepless night you are unable to concentrate.
A decrease in the body’s defenses is not the only side effect with a lack of sleep. Several studies have confirmed that people who do not rest have a greater risk of developing inflammatory processes, and latent inflammations in the body lead to prolonged stress, taking medications and a galaxy of health problems.
In addition, regular exercises are an integral part of strong immunity. Physical training improves the state of the cardiovascular system, lowers blood pressure, helps maintain optimal weight and protects against viral diseases. However, the body does not like extremes, and if you have not played sports at all, beware of very intense physical exercises. Your body must get used to the stress associated with a new activity, and if you plan too hard training, your immunity can weaken.
A similar situation occurs when a person has just recovered. If you start exercising too soon or too intensely, it may happen that exercises will exhaust your immune system so much that you will become sick again.
